Mobile Phone/Broadband Improvements

Wakool Shire Council is undertaking a campaign to attract significant investment to improve current internet capacity following troubling results from a business satisfaction survey of internet use.

Seventy-three per cent of respondents to Council’s online survey said current wireless or mobile internet bandwidth and speed was either poor or inadequate. Twenty-eight per cent of respondents said this had significant negative impacts on their business.

Overall, almost 60 per cent of respondents said current internet access, capacity and reliability was having a net negative impact to their efficiency and profitability.

Meetings and onsite visits by Telstra and NBN over the coming months are being organised through the Member for Farrer, Sussan Ley’s office. Update will be posted on this page.
