Food Handling & Premises

The aim of this Section is to ensure compliance with the Health Regulations for all commercial and domestic buildings and food handlers to provide, advise and promote best practises to maintain sound public health standards throughout the Shire.

Council has continued to develop programs for the inspection of food premises and public swimming pools. Through the implementation of these programs, it is hoped that the profile of food safety and other public health matters can be lifted with the shire.



The number of complaints that require investigation action continues to be minimal, which indicates a relatively high compliance with legislative requirements.



Where necessary Council has worked co-operatively with various state government agencies to ensure prompt resolution of the problems.
