Wakool Shire Council General Manager Bruce Graham said last month's adoption of the draft LEP to seek public exhibition from the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, was subject to a review of the maps' accuracy.
"Council was certainly concerned as to the accuracy of these biodiversity and wetland maps, which are required by the state government to enable assessment of the potential effects on biodiversity and wetlands when development applications are lodged," Mr Graham said.
"Therefore, to ensure these draft maps are correct, Council is seeking comment from property owners. Staff from the Office of Environment and Heritage will also be visiting the Shire to conduct on-the-ground reviews."
