Draft Development Control Plan on Exhibition

During the exhibition period Council is inviting interested community members to view the draft DCP (see links below) and to lodge a written submission with any feedback for Council’s consideration.  Written submissions are due by Friday 18 July 2013.

As a recap, the NSW Government has implemented a mandatory ‘Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework’ for all NSW Councils. The aim of this change is to improve local councils’ long term community planning and asset management, as well as streamlining reporting t the community.

Road Train Routes

The routes would consist of Pretty Pine Road from Tallow Street, Carne Street, Barratta Street and Pretty Pine Road to the Shire boundary. The Maude Road from Tchelery Road to the Shire Boundary and Burraboi Road from Burraboi to Wakool and Wakool Road to the Shire Boundary.

Council had been working towards the finalisation of the project for a number of years, with residents now having access to a low pressure scheme similar to other towns in the Shire.

Wakool Shire Mayor, Cr Andrew Douglas said it is pleasing to have the scheme finalised and is now encouraging residents to arrange connection.

Draft LEP to go on Public Exhibition

Wakool Shire Council General Manager Bruce Graham said the draft LEP is a key planning instrument which affected all land within the Shire and encouraged property owners to provide feedback to the document.
