Bridge Lifts Procedure/Policy

There are five (5) lift span bridges, for which Council has the responsibility of lifting on behalf of the RTA, to cater for river traffic, along the Murray River that are located within the Wakool Shire.

RTA is responsible for maintenance, repairs and replacement of these bridges - they own them.

Obviously Council has had to put in place a Bridge Lifting Procedure, not only to organise man power for traffic control but also to notify the various emergency services etc.

For people wanting a bridge lifted, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required. Please contact the Moulamein Office to advise the details.
